Notices from UniCare began showing up in mailboxes across Cook County today, informing policy holders of the company’s intent to stop selling health insurance in Illinois. This was reported here this weekend.
UniCare plans to cease their Illinois operations as of December 31, 2009. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois is poised to take over control of those policy holders who will be without their ‘current’ coverage. Isn’t that special?!?
